Hi everyone! I wanted to post to get some advice on how to plus my work! I have a W.I.P of a little hand-painted Space Pal. All done using Zbrush and Polypaint. Once I'm a little farther into it, I'll render in Unreal. Let me know what you think so far!
Hi, everyone, This is my first game character - Archer. I did the sculpting in Zbrush and finished it in 3ds Max. And it was rendered in marmoset. If anyone could give me some feedback or suggestions on the character maps or anything will be awesome. Attachment not found. Attachment not found. Attachment not found.…
:s I have a model that is ~3mil polys, I duplicate it as a separate subtool and I am setting up DM to 5k polys in quality. I pre-process current and then hit Decimate current... after a long weight my polypaint is missing and the model goes to ~6mil polys. Any thoughts?
You should polypaint her face to have a better understanding of how the end product will look. Paint the face and the eyes, add some temporary hair and continue from there. The face needs some significant changes in order for it to look like the reference images you've shown.
Just do it in Zbrush IMO if you really need that feature. Set the brush of your choice to RGB, increase the roll value, and polypaint away. If you're working on Dota 2 handpainted stuff you should be able to get a plenty high-resolution texture out of that.
hmmmm interesting. seeing as everything gets mega textured, I can see them just polypainting a bunch of stuff at higher res, making unique sculpts of things and having it all get calculated in the mega texture for proper 1:1 texel density at the end.
we created a new workflow for us here, pretty much no texturepainting involved. Because its almost impossible to either find the people for painting or getting the budget for the time spent to texturize it. So what you see is simple polypaint + bakes. No classical handpainting of the textures.
decided to go for the polypaint option.. i can touch it up and edit sat/hue values later on in photoshop but atleast i learnt a bit more of zbrush today. now ill probably go on and make a game engine compatible mesh and then do some baking.
Another update on the texture. I started this one from scratch, just to have a clean slate. I've done 2 variations, that are based on the same polypaint result. At the moment, I'm just trying to get the metal looking right. Any feedback would be much appreciated.
great work! I didn't read anything you wrote about the character but read her as the girl from ico around the "polypainting" part! guess her facials could be more innocent/worried looking but it's all good thank you for the wonderful presentation as well!
