Hi there! I have been looking everywhere for the best way to rig the ears of characters with big pointy ears, such as canines like wolves, coyotes, foxes and spitz type dogs, or various other fantasy creatures. Every example I have found so far is just a basic single FK chain going up the middle of the ear. The problem I…
I've had this on two models now. I'm rather new to riggging and skinning but I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong here. Model was xformed before rigging and adding skin modifier. The model and geo is all zeroed out. What is causing this issue? I'm working in Meters, could that be it? Is the hand geo insufficent? I'm at…
ok so I've been following the tutorial : https://www.pluralsight.com/courses/maya-2017-rigging-introduction Everything is working great until the "weight dance" section. Basically as soon as I set keys for all controls, I seem to lose all function of my spine/IK set up. It basically freezes. I can stil move the control…
Hellfoot, I moved your post out of the Job Census. This should be its own thread. For internships, usually companies are not looking for complete skillsets, they're looking for raw talent, someone that looks like they have the potential to grow into a paid position. It's a great way to cull the best talent out of the…
is there a way to re texture an already rig/skin weighted model in maya? thanks or transfer the righ/weighted skin to the same model that was retextured?
Hi Everyone, After watching many youtube rigging tutorial, I have been trying to figure out for some time now, why people create groups for curve controllers. What do those groups help to offset? Very similar as why we need controllers for joints? You could easily animate the joints, but i don't understand why that's a big…
Yea IK or Ribbon-IK ,they're pretty much the same. you say tomato i say tomato but really, same-same =) The key difference is in process and how you build the control rig that drives the final skeleton. Each way will cause you to design and build your rig in specific ways, which will help and hurt you in slightly different…
Have you done a lot of rigging before? It seems like a pretty big step from something very artistic to something very technical and tedious. If you like them both equally than all the power to you, just never met a character modeler that actually liked rigging.
We're hiring a rigger to fix issues with our current rig. If you're not able to fix the issues, you would make a new one. This is specifically for UE4. If you're interested in the gig, please shoot over a PM. Thanks.
