Day 04 Again I really dont know who this artist is, I tought it was Zedig at first but I cant find it on his site. If anyone knows who the original artist is let me know! :) Anyway great study, lots of fun brushwork and stuff to learn from it. Altough the original is way more awesome in the mixed and blends :P
Animating with planes is fun. Here's something done with 2D planes in After effects. Which uses the puppet tool, which basically skins and bones the 2D planes. The same thing can be done in 3D software but its probably easier in After effects. check out more of the animation test at the top of the page when the video…
Thanks dude, Yeah agreed, It would be fun to do something more finalized. I was thinking about maybe doing 2D animation in Maya? Could be interesting to use planes with 2D art. Looks like the character has a long way to go even if I can't tell whether he is headed towards the city structure or away from it... :) Dado: Thanks for showing those character concept sheets for the gnome, it's fun to see how many different ideas you were…

moof: not braver, but yeah I feel like going to the pool without knowing how to swim right now : ) razorb: that is freaking cool! Lots of great stuff lately! here is some progress on subway chick with real paint this time, colors are off, perspective too but hey, its fun! detail shot: setup:…

The mood gets a bit lost with them rendered near black. I needed a fun mental release from work. So I dug…
Very accurate-looking studies Korpehn! Some studies of my own from tonight, tried to do that thing where you exaggerate the style but still draw from a ref: Then I did this guy, did a more realistic study first, then some more fun with color and shape on the second: Singer and Erik, you guys are tearing it up! Love all the…
