We'll start by just drawing a piece everyday, and it can be digital or traditional. Then we'll start to work in some sweet themes to challenge ourselfs! ex. robots, chicks etc.
- 1 embed maximum (1 image, or 1 video, or 1 gif, etc.)
- Anim GIFs must be less than 2 mb
- Externally-hosted images must be less than 500 kb
- Uploaded images must not exceed 1000 pixels in any dimension
- Don't upload PNG, use JPG
- Breaking these rules may cause merciless editing by a Moderator

I said general for a reason.
I don't object to Makkon's concepts whatsoever. To the absolute contrary I profusely approve of them because they are much more in line with the sort of portrayal I would be advocating more intensely if I could be arsed than the usual oversexualised woman in useless, impractical and more often than not even counterproductive garments and gear.
They're normally made into sexual objects here and in most of the gaming industry, which aligns with old fashioned views that they should be passive, disempowered and at home cleaning while restrained to the oven by a chain, while the men go out and be muscular and fight each other. And personally, I don't align with medieval views.
Makkon's pictures above show women that look like they could be actually viably active and compelling characters. I like them for what it's worth.
So if people should get to reinforce gender sterotypes and systematically spread bad norms without being considered sexist, who should be considered sexist?
Not that I'm trying to prohibit anyone from anything. I'm just trying to remind people that it's silly to systematically substitute real, intriguing female characters for some strange sort of soft CG-porn.

I'm not too worried about defending the honor or integrity of either sex as more than a sex object... it's clearly part of our dna to at some level do that. Since guys are more visual, they tend to do it more as part of art I think. I'm guessing girls enjoy that sort of thing more in writing. Either way.. it's happening

I don't mind single images of scantily clad women, or men for that matter. I agree it can be useful or even vital to express certain sentiments, concepts or atmospheres, but it is scarcely actually used meaningfully like that.
It's usally just conformation to the norms, and that's my issue. I'm not nearly as upset as that Selaznog kid is putting me across. I just like to remind people that it's nonsense and quite discriminatory, what images of genders are produced in the whole gaming scene.
I'm annoyed I can't play as female characters in fantasy games without feeling ridiculous.
You don't really see a lot of these circulating about. And there's a reason for that, namely that it's completely and utterly ridiculous.
As artists, I think it is our duty to study anatomy and play with shapes, all of them, keep in mind art and video games are a distraction, if an oversexualized guy or girl is what you enjoy (as many many guys do), then it is successful in bringing distraction and fun.
I really enjoy this discussion, and though it's easy to grow tired of I feel it's an important one to have, but I don't think this thread is the right place to have it. If you want to keep going, start one in the 'General Discussion' section perhaps.
I think we can all agree that it is important to talk about gender equality but at the same time I think that we can all also agree that anatomy, croquis sketches and the exploration of the female AND male forms are not porn or degrading.
My two cents said, lets get back to what this thread is avout shall we?
