Currently sculpting Skull Kid from Zelda: Majora's Mask! My next progress is gonna be on the hat, adding the rings and making it more asymmetrical, as well as working on the folds of the shirt. I'm also gonna sculpt some wood texture on his body at some point.
It helps to draw a skull shape on top of your heads when you're not sure, it makes the mistakes pop out. Because muscle may stretch and change positions slightly, like in eyebrows, however the features placed within the bone space and the 3D space, don't change
Here's a new version of the haircut. I used Dylan Ekren's hair brush which I found to be a fantastic tool for building this character's hair. The next step will be to detach fly away hairs from the main strands and figure out how to treat the sides of the skull.
Gathering some reference real quick for the detail sculpting. Bird skull for the instrument, folds for the dress, and some possible corset details if I have time to get fancy. Not real sure how my workflow ended up going med-low-high, but whatever.
Helmet: nice idea! Weapon: looks way too fantasy for me :/ I would consider reshaping the animal head so it looks less like a skull if you what I mean ;) Good luck, TheMightyKnight http://www.polycount.com/forum/showthread.php?t=140143
I posted this in my ongoing thread, but I think it was swallowed up. So I am curious, and maybe I can get some guidance here. I am working towards character art. I have been focusing on the skull where I can and trying to get it down, recently got Dr.Paul Richer's book and have been trying to understand some of the things…
I would shift his shoulders back too a bit. The way they are coming from his body at the moment does not look very natural. Honestly The face doesn't really match the concept very well. It seems way more defined and realistic, and not similar to concept, or to ursa. Ursa's snout is way higher on the skull, and the concept…
Thanks a lot everyone for the kind words!!! Ahaha Moose, you are right. The backstory was made at the same time than the concept, and if you look at the dude, he looked way more peace & love at that time. :) The skull is his son's who died in a tragic accident. When he found him laying on the ground, with vultures all…
Hi Tyroth :) Pretty cool so far. Do you have a concept you are working from or is this of your own design? If there is a concept, that would give us a better shot at pointing out some specific critique for you. One thing which initially stands out to me design-wise, is a question of whether the triceratops helmet is a…
Very good advice from JustAfterDark. Your figure seems off the mark. Download a human skull and place it under your sculpt to get your positions and volumes right. Your head seems to be missing jaw volume and the skull volume is too high in profile. The profile shows problems in the shoulder and arm structure. The muscle…
