Hi all, this is a problem that plagues me from time to time, and I couldn't find a similar thread on search (my bad search skill most probably). As my explaining skills are....lackluster, to say the least, I'll use this video I captured to demonstrate: [ame] http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EQ9e9SrqdeY[/ame] So can someone…
Tablets like those require usb 3.0 + displayport in (lower end models with HDMI) check if your laptop has a Displayport out. It'll act like a second monitor, so yes you could game on it. I'd watch out to make sure there isn't any high input lag, which can make high intense/competitive games a deal breaker.
As the title says really, I'm finding it really confusing as my prefabs already have numbers in the names so I cant tell what's suppose to be what in the project view. Is it Tree_03 or the second instance of Tree_02??
Please can anyone explain this problem? I have searched the internet for an answer but haven't found one, only found out that another person has had this problem. The quandary is this. In Maya when I use the Polygon sculpting tool on my polygon geometry the Relax doesn't have any affect whatsoever on certain areas, certain…
i finished a university course (3 years) in germany which didn't cost a dime. first thing to do when looking for a school: look at countries where you can study for free. i still dont understand how people are willing to pay the price of a new car for education that is in most cases sub-par. anyway: my university wasn't…
Hi guys, Posting here on a recommendation from my uni course. Basically I'm a MSc 3D Games Modelling student and the task for my Advanced Rigging module was to create a working rig for either a quadruped or a vehicle. I chose to rig a Monster Truck and used the Grave Digger truck by Prykie (no marks for modelling, only the…
No easy way around that. There are some tips and tricks for topology you can learn from Arrimus 3d on youtube and other tutorials. You can model everything you want on Maya, if you are searching for an "easier" tool then i guess you would be disappointed. You could try sculpting but it is definitely harder. You could try…
@D1ver, Thank-you so much I will try to act on everything you've said, I'm gping to look into Naughty Dog and agree about the focal point cheers for pointing it out. I think I'm going to get the images in Photoshop greyscale then and see of I cant find a better way to display them. I totally agree with the Zbrush tiling…
Breaking the panels off to separate elememts/meshes is the way to go. As you've discovered, modeling sub-ds from a single mesh is not a good idea. The general rule is to model an item to parts as it would be built in real life. Once you have the primary form/silhouette in place and edges placed where the borders of each…
It's kind of hard to do with a custom skeleton because so much depends on how it was built. Rigs like CAT and biped have scaling features included. I make sure that each mesh piece shares the same pivot point which makes scaling much easier. I like to put this pivot point at the lowest center point of the character, so the…
