Eat3d fountain is the closest thing to what you want but zBrush has changed so much. I highly recommend lesperences course that m4dcow posted, but it is more conceptual.

m4dcow> type both rows in script editor, select/highlight both strings, MMB-drag to shelf, select to save it as "MEL". Voila, shelf-button with what you spoke of.
@Axi5 and @m4dcow Just wondering, is this effective for materials with alphas like leaves? I utilized this tutorial create the hypershade map for a leaf but I never seemed to get the desired result.
I'm not much of a rigger either I'm just curious why you want to translate instead of scale? Like M4DCOW said that sounds like it could cause head-aches.
