I'm new to Polycount and I want to start building my 3d portfolio. So what better way than to kick it off with a sketchbook post. All these were created in Scultptris.
I'm new to Polycount, Dota and pretty new to 3D. I decided to get my feet wet with this contest. I'm working on a club for Ogre Magi. Concept sketch Starting the high poly sculpt.

So how were the scores added up? By my (possibly inaccurate) calculations adding up Asmuel's (also possibly inaccurate) calculations, Polycount should be 6 or so points ahead of 3D Total.
I don't think this is true at all. I'd say the opposite is probably more true. Maybe you just aren't looking in the right places? Zbrushcentral, 3D world and Polycount aren't animation focused. :)
I'm new to 3d modelling, this thread and polycount in general, but here is my blockout attempt. Like I said in the skype group, it looks a little low compared to the original, but I am happy with the proportions.
I've been working on a 3d character artist's handbook(github wiki) that covers the entire workflow as well as other things like composition, anatomy and so on. I think it's now at the point where it's ready to also be used by others. Hope you like it😉 Maybe consider adding it to some polycount resource post
Congrats polycount! Congrats R! Congrats to us all! Been here for about 8 of those 10 years and I can't tell you how much I love this site. If it wasn't for polycount, I wouldn't be in this great industry. This is and will be the only 3d game forum I ever post in, unless it ceases to exist. Here's to 10 more!
Welcome to Polycount, Luke. When I started into 3D (now I do animation so I haven't been keeping up with 3D tutorial hubs anymore) I spent hours of my childhood looking thru tutorials. It's as simple as that. Google, Google, Google. I heared CGtutsPlus has good tuts. =]
