the bloom is almost right but its just not next gen enough.. everything needs to be brown! all brown! colors don't exist in a next gen universe.. brown it up.. my eyes don't even know how to see this for the lack of all brown and grey or a combination of brown and grey and grey browns.. this is what is SHOULD look like…
The thing is that if you're aiming towards a game that would use that type of lighting you would still shape the silhouette of objects out a bit more. Basically, it's next gen-ish lighting and PS2 geometry. You can use MR lightmaps and such on current gen, but it's still not gonna look like that. If you're using Maya this…
As far as using a last gen engine is concerned, I'm sure that the school could have the students purchase the 15 dollar Robo Blitz so that they could use a current gen albeit stripped down version of UE3 to do a mod. Not intending to derail the thread with talks of alternative engines just making the point that there are…
It really doesn't matter how great the graphics will be for the PS3 if it's not used properly. Some big companies will use it for all its advantages. But still, many companies will still be releasing games with crappy last gen artwork when it comes to realism. Or, mind blowing visuals, no gameplay. Same story as last gen.…
pretty great man, I'd love to see it slowed down a bit, but obviously next gen games tend to be more fast paced so it is what you;d expect from a next gen character animation. My only critique is that between the first and second strike, it feels a bit mechanical to me whereas the leadup to the first strike is quite fluid.…
Did you really make those from scratch? Or did you use the T-Gen 2 tree and plant generator that is available specifically for XSI? ( http://www.strongmocha.com/2009/07/22/t-gen-version-2-0-released/ ) You have sooo many different tree variations... if you did make them one by one then I applaud your dedication!

Hi all. Just to clarify, I have used the polycount search and have used google. I'm after a good tutorial on the Max - Zbrush workflow for next gen characters. Basically what is offered for Maya in this dvd by the gnomon workshop, http://www.thegnomonworkshop.com/store/product/523/Character-Modeling-for-Next-Gen-Games.…
Hi, i am recreating the Krew's saloon in Jak and Daxter II. My goal is to get a next gen look to this environment from the PS2 era and learn more about UE4 and asset creation. Here is the in game screenshot: http://jakanddaxter.wikia.com/wiki/Hip_Hog_Heaven_Saloon I am starting to blockout the proportions: Once i'll have…
Not sure it does have the 4000 igp which normally is on i7 mostly. Most i5s come with the 2500. But it is supposedly an ultra book i5. FWIW. The next year gen of I series igp performance is supposedly going to be 2X the current gen. Which means it might even be good enough to do like 3d coat or Mudbox. To bad no one offers…
