Howdy everyone, I need some help/critique on a character of mine. I'm trying to sculpt some cloth and need some input. Right now it's lacking in form and just plain looks bad. Any good places for reference would be great as well, my google-fu was weak. Also, here's a couple of the full character for laughs.
I need some 3D to work on while I'm away from my desktop, so I'll be making a floor. Have fun guessing what my idea is until I can get my concept sketches scanned in. :poly124: Reference Board: (Click the pic for an even larger image) Going to use this as a way to open myself up more to hard surface modelling, re-introduce…
I went and read Rorshach's post, and found that arshlevon nailed it... the graphics card has nothing to do with how 3ds Max generates normal maps. The card however does matter when rendering them in realtime (in a Max viewport, in a game, in a previewing tool, etc.). ATI cards expect the green channel to point the normal…
ok cheers guys. yeah danr, I have built my own machines in the past and they always have little glitches here and there. I am pretty cackhanded myself. I suppose I should go for the vista ultimate 64bit with windows 7 upgrade option. Processor (CPU) Intel® Core2 Quad Q9550 (2.83GHz) 1333MHz FSB/12MB Cache Memory (RAM) 8GB…
Since the R9800 and R9500 falis in my machine (Athlon 950), I'll get a "budget" card in the $40 range, because I know those'll work in this crap machine I have. Unfortunately there's only two, and they both suck: Powercolor ATI Radeon 9250 128mb $38 The 9250 only has DX8 support, and everyone talks about radeons having…
Mesh + normals map causing 'hard' seams on every curved face on curvature map Hey there everyone I'm having a problem trying to bake my curvature map for part of a model. I noticed this with Painter, but as near-enough the same thing's happening with xnormal's baker, I figured technical talk is the more appropriate place.…
Hey Tokoya! Here's little paintover. Don't be afraid to use a bigger value range - more lighter lights and darker darks. Establish light source. Right now it's kinda hard to tell where your lights are coming from. To practice maybe start with a basic top down lighting. Adding little cracks and nick-marks will give you…
Hi im working on a full character sculpt for my portfolio, just started learning Zbrush. Not sure if im heading in the right direction. Comments and critique are appreciated..
There's a bunch of Hand painted textures stuff out there already, take a look at Slipgatescentral (his videos are quite inspiring) Ben regimbal and haikai.net stuff. Something good to know is that it's not about the tools with this thing but more about your skill as a painter, the default brush of photoshop is good too. I…
