Howdy everyone, I need some help/critique on a character of mine. I'm trying to sculpt some cloth and need some input. Right now it's lacking in form and just plain looks bad.
Any good places for reference would be great as well, my google-fu was weak.
Also, here's a couple of the full character for laughs.

usually with long hanging cloth like that you get a lot of deep long vertical creases
but yeah you'll have a hard time finding loin cloth/tabard style reference images on google, you'd be better off googling for drapery or hanging cloth, or grab a camera and appropriate sized garment and take some photos :poly142:
found a nice piece of ref here searching for draping cloth that could help:

hope any of that helps!
I think I was starting to do "V" folds (or whatever the heck they're called) but that wouldn't be appropriate here since it's supported across the entire cloth's top edge instead of 2 points, right?
Too bad there's not a single similar outfit out there.
Oh well...
now im just curious snader, what did you type in to find that :P
I'm having problems with the way I constructed the mesh for this, specifically the bottom. I can't seem to deform it in any way that makes it look like a section of cloth and that's ruining it.
The feathers in the headdress will be alpha'ed. I like how the leather turned out, but not the cloth. It still doesn't look like a real material.
When a fold comes down, the creases pull in the surrounding cloth and make it fall in a curvy S shape rather than a straight shape.
At the moment yours looks more like corrugated sheet metal. You've got the technique almost right though, keep chipping away at it!
