Well, I use it regularly . It's just possible to do more or less same style rounding corners in Substance designer /painter too , on simple boxy style things at least, so often I do it straight in Designer. Regular baking from hires requires just too much extra time and headache if what you merely want is just the…
Hi guys, I have some experience baking in Painter but I never saw this weird issue on big flat polygons. Check this: Low poly mesh is ok. The same for the high poly. I checked the normal map and I found these 4 different color values. I have no idea how to fix this. I tried everything. Nothing works. I also baked this…
As this obviously confuses people like me and @Shrike and probably also future readers I made a proper image: The first and initial issue was in the blue marked area where the baker missed the highpoly due to being off-center compared to the lowpoly:
Hi, so after reading EarthQuakes post on making sense of hard edges, uvs, normal maps, vertex counts & Understanding averaged normals and ray projection/Who put waviness in my normal map? I decided to re-bake a normal map of model I created some time ago but never managed to get good baking results. The thing is I use Maya…

Baking turns out weird on triangles of these specific objects. The geometry is clean and triangulated, I'm not sure what could be causing the issue. The rest of the mesh bakes out absolutely fine.

I want bake a scene that make it look better as well as dynamic light same scene. But, the result of baked scene is too different and inconsistent to I can't use it and must to adjust so many properties of lights. Have any good way to bake a almost perfect lightmap? Or It is have some better processing pipeline recommend…
Does Xnormal have an auto-weld function, maybe an import setting? Maybe look for a different export format that Xnormal supports (or use a different baker). The .3ds format is always going to have problems though, it cannot store a UV seam in a single mesh vertex, so it either tosses it out or it dupes the vert (can't…
