Wish your images were larger. Most people these days can handle a 1024 image on their screen. You have a LOT of stuff on your web site too. Whats your focus?
Instead of using 1 big 2048 texture why not split in 4 textures each 1024? This way you can tile the texture in-game. And also use trimsheets like Pixel saied.
I moved 824 miles for my first job, 454 miles for my second and 2,030 miles for my current, hopefully I'm done moving because there are a lot of studios in Austin, TX.
For hand painting textures like these did you start at higher resolution document and lowered it down? The final texture is at 1024x1024, did you paint at 2048x2048 and scaled down or just straight at 1024?
UVW Editor Window Options > Advanced Options Display Preferences - Render Width / Height Set this to 1024/512 or whatever your preferences are. Then render your texture out to that specific size as well.
Wow, 5800 tri's and a 1024 is huge for such a small asset. You better put that very close on the foreground to justify all that detail :p It looks good though, maybe a bit uniform in colors.
so, is the fancy top of the line Intuos 3 really worth the money? both have 1024 levels of sensetivety, which is - bottom line - what we each use the most. All the rest is orbitting in useless mode innit. waddya say?
I'm working on a high poly model of a Jumo 004 jet engine. It's an early jet engine that was used on Me262's. Aside from the cylinders, it's filled with many 'unique' shapes and is making for a fun exercise. This is a work in progress, I'll post as more is completed. And this one of the references:
Hi chaps, this is a model iv been working on for a mod group. Its at about 2500 tris at the moment (with a limit of about 4000) it will be textured with one 1024 and one 512 maps. Its still pretty early yet just getting the proportions right. Crits welcome
This is my first post on PC. This is my newest model, modeled in max, sculpted in zbrush, textured in PS. It's about 40k Tris with 1024 maps. Crits and comments are always welcome and I have a very thick skin, so don't hold back. Thanks!
