I once recorded myself in zbrush, i can't remember the 'ins and out but you basically create a script and zbrush interpret this as a recording that you can watch later. -

Its red when it cant-mirror - try adjusting the threshold or the mirror plane. If all that fails, I can send you a nasty mirror script tomrrow that will work. -

ya, grid snap doesn't work like that in Max. take a look around for MoP's tools. He's got some max scripts that helped me out a ton with that. -

why use a heightmap plugin ? just displace a subdivided planemesh with a texture btw I think there is some scripts at scriptspot that do terrain stuff in max, just search there -
