I'm probably looking at 200-500 tris and 256x256 or 512x512 -- something around that. I haven't tried out 3D Coat yet. Would that be the best? I've seen some good things come out of that.
Same here, works fine with 4.6 and 5 installed. Try holding ALT when launching 5.0 as it might be crashing due to an existing project that its trying to upgrade, this will allow you to create a fresh project.
Seems reasonable assuming a 2020 release, and $500+ price tag or if they plan to sell at a loss. That NVMe drive is going to cost them, but it's definitely time for consoles to move away from traditional mechanical hard drives.
Yeah, I have the RX100 III, its the best pocket camera I've ever used, by a huge amount. Would likely be suitable for texture reference. The I and II models can be had in the $500 range.
That's what we are shipping with 5.0. There will be tons of new features and content coming during the 5.x cycle, some of it being already in internal beta. We have some exciting stuff in stores for the coming year :)
oh ya, and for my laptop above, I paid 500 US at best buy [on sale]. And alienware's are overpriced and bad quality, so stay the hell away from them. and as stated above hp's are great.
A better comparison would be The BMW M3 VS the New mustang GT 5.0.. Same power, same 1/4 mile times.. very similar 'specs' but 2 very different prices and 2 very different groups.
I've been really wanting to, but don't have the extra cash right now, You can build a pretty decent printer for $500-ish, there's awesome kits on ebay that tell you everything you need and contains instructions.
Sadly they seem to have stopped creating more podcasts. But The Game Industry Mentors did an episode on interviewing for the job. I listened to this before I started interviewing for jobs and it really helped a lot. http://gim.acanaday.com/?p=170
