Haha yeah, that changes things a bit... Alton Towers is nowhere near me, like almighty_gir says... it's at least 3 hours drive from where I live, probably more like 3 1/2. Dunno if I'll be able to make it that far out :) As for Alton Towers itself, it's pretty good fun, some rides are better than others, I reckon it… -

Thnaks for the advice, looks like the 4080 it is . I was a bit concerned about the later RTX cards for the reason you mentioned ie overheating. can't afford to buy a fancy brick :) Not sure what GB the 4080 is, would be good to get 24 , though more likely 16 -

I personally quite like how it reminds me of some earlier 3d pieces when people were experimenting with various approaches at their disposal or with this or that new plugin that just came out because processes (as well as popular art styles) weren't as unified as they are… -

Foliage Lighting like a Nut Sack.
Anybody know what this is about? It looked fine when I placed it but after building lighting on Preview quality (For 40 dang minutes!) it came out like this. EDIT: I think it might be because the origin is below the terrain? Is there any way to fix that other than having the grass floating? -

It's absolutely not necessary to go buy a giant workstation to make 3d models and hasn't been since about 2008. You can probably do the work you need to do on that machine quite comfortably - I used a worse one when I was working on first party PS4 titles. You may want more ram for zbrush but in general I'd suggest not…
