I don't like the results - I played with it this afternoon. It's quite similar to a system I use, but instead of metal ray I use a lightdome. It's scripted, so it created the (multisub) material by duplicating the main material and erasing the spec and diffuse maps. It renders much faster and I think the results are nicer.…
Hi there, I'm struggling to understand how calibrated albedo maps are actually made. There is so much talk about PBR, how it's wonderful, physically correct awesomeness. But not even Allegorithmic has any information on how to make a calibrated texture. Let's look at an example. Pretend that I want to know what is the…
Indeed, they're great when trying to reference stuff that's either 'hidden' or difficult to gauge via just eyeballing sucky looking pics so these are routinely sources I tend to make use of, among others: Prime Portal - Armoured Vehicles Wikipedia - Panzerkampfwagen VI, Tiger I (H1), SdKfz. 181. The Tank Museum Bovington…
Made it through the bulk of those and it let me get to the next errors, (wish we had a spoiler option? cuz here comes a wall of text ) an example reads like this: Starting object 105 (sea_jap_eastern_tohoku_sea) ERROR: found region sea_jap_eastern_tohoku_sea with 4 edges, must have at least 6. First edge is: AT VERT:…

Eric Chadwick: Thanks for the tip dude, I'll check with amartinez and see if he can help, and I'll use scriptspot for backup. amartinez: I really appreciate you taking the time to help! I probably didn't describe my problem well enough, but simply put I need a solution for applying all these diffuse textures to a single…
I doubt the Sony is much better optically, and likely much poorer build quality. The minolta 50/1.7 actually has excellent build quality, feels much nicer than the Canon 50/1.8 II(which i would imagine is similar to the Sony's plastic build). If the Sony has quieter AF, that would be a big plus. Some of the Minolta 50/1.7…
"5th April 2010 10:44 EST WikiLeaks has released a classified US military video depicting the indiscriminate slaying of over a dozen people in the Iraqi suburb of New Baghdad -- including two Reuters news staff. Reuters has been trying to obtain the video through the Freedom of Information Act, without success since the…
Yo! Been having some serious difficulties getting something to work. I hope I can get some light shed on this issue with your combined minds :) I'm trying to create a shader which is able to take a single RGB texture and from it, create alpha textures for each unique RGB value. Meaning if I have a map with 4 colors in it,…
I have to agree with Ruz. It reminds me of the way I did faces by slicing, hacking, and cutting my way along, its not "wrong" because it is an important skill to have and will teach you much as you hack and slice. It just isn't as efficent with your time as using edge loops. Also if you keep your loops clean and don't cut…
