Very cool! I'm excited to see that Marvelous Designer is being used more. Did you use MD for all of the cloth parts? May I ask how you made the boots? Did you have a base mesh and then simulate the cloth on top of it?
Magic 8-Ball says...signs point toward yes. Marvel vs. Disney vs. Star Wars? ... ...okay, that actually sounds pretty awesome. The only problem is that I don't know of any studios that EA has that would be a good fit for such a game.
Very cool gir. I look forward to seeing how you handle the technical aspects of this, but I'm impressed by the artistic stuff already. Are the clothes done in marvelous designer? If so, how do you like it? Will you incorporate it into your future character pipeline?
You could still use a terrain look like World Machine or World Creator. They provide a lot of flexibility over how you create and output your terrain. You will need how to learn to use them effectively first but the results can be marvelous
I planning for this to be apart of a movie poster pulp novel type collage illustration. It came out heavier than I wanted, but oh well onwards and upwards. I made the ref using daz3d, marvellous designer and blender. Also did this bit of fanart.
Hey SSawyer, any updates?? Do you need funding to create this? Go make one campaign on Kickstarter and Indiegogo!! We want to support you. We're sure a lot of people like us will fund you if you can make such a marvelous thing.
if you want a realtime simulation then look into the cloth sim built into unity. as for creating the actual mesh, either do it the old fashioned way or you could try something like marvelous designer 2 which would take less than an hour to create
@slosh: Thanks. :> Had not so much time in the past to work on it but I found a bit time now to make some progress: I don't know how to make the cape from her. Should I use Marvelous Designer for that or do it straight in Zbrush?
Marvelous designer. Or zbrush. Or nCloth. Either way it sounds like you'll have to learn a new tool, and I'd really recommend doing it in zbrush and trying to get the best results you can. If you don't like it, start over until it looks good! :)
Did you use marvellous designer for the clothing? The folds look weird. If you are using MD you might want to play with the material thickness/stiffness amd pinning to get some convincing results. If you are not using MD I would study fold and fall references.
