Yep, it was time I made a sketchbook. I started this yesterday. The goal was to make a Sackboy from LittleBigPlanet in less than 500 tris. Still WIP. I am not a Sony fanboy and I don't have a PS3 but this game makes me feel warm inside.

Your coverage is back down to 500. Set it higher again. :) I just tried on a default sphere and got the same results you are after from the tut image with coverage 2000.
I've un-mirrored the UV's and reworked the texture. If there's any issues with it, please point them out. Plus I reduced the polycount from 1,440 tris to 590. Thanks to Oniram for the advice. :)
