Hey guys, wanted to show off what I've done and hopefully receive a bunch of good/bad criticism so I can try and improve it. Thankyou! https://forums.unrealengine.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=5469&d=1403139105 https://forums.unrealengine.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=5471&d=1403139475…
You put in a z77 without a K processor though; pointless. :P (Not that I can talk, I have an i7 3770 in a z77e-ITX, cause I was on a budget.) Also, did you factor a windows licence into that? Aaaaaaaaanyways... waiting to see what Gaben shows us soon.
EDIT : Got it. Ne'ways, here is a small update. Haha - I finally like the final design. http://img473.imageshack.us/img473/4470/swordzs5.jpg My max copy is bugging out, I can't apply a UVW map on it now. I guess I'll see if restarting does anything.
5800/5900x and a 3070/3080 with 32gb (leaving space for 32 more) would be a fairly good place to be. The extra cores in my 5950x are of dubious real world benefit and outside of processing genuinely huge datasets I rarely go past 32gb of ram usage. I'd suggest that the money is better spent elsewhere
Been almost a month since I updated anything over here! Work's keeping me a lot busy and my 3070 ran into issues so had to replace it. Finally after so many days got back to the env. Refined the lighting, meshes, textures, posters and added some few more here and there!
Did some quick research and fog volumes are still under consideration. https://forums.unrealengine.com/showthread.php?6065-Fog-Volume-aka-a-BOX-of-FOG I did find some alternatives though, https://answers.unrealengine.com/questions/34730/volumetric-material.html…
Thought I'd never do a space marine (without finacial benefit that is) but I found myself inclined to do just that. Didnt add anything to the genre concept-wise but Im enjoying him insofar. He's got 3440 tris and Ive still got to model an optional helmet. Im looking for crits so please do.
heres some inspiration for you... http://forums.cgsociety.org/showthread.php?f=121&t=39470 one of the coolest threads I have ever seen on tinternet. Its kinda old now but still very inspiring. Starts off saying he wants a job at Blizzard and ends with him saying he is working there
Set the W axis to zero, and see if that fixes it. http://help.autodesk.com/view/3DSMAX/2016/ENU/?guid=GUID-C65A1B09-3670-4E7E-BCFC-13E10C831817 You can use the UV/VW/UW dropdown (top right) to see W. Then select all verts. Then use the Absolute Type In (bottom left) to set W to zero.
