Pass the selection down to the editable poly and get the connected edges from there before passing it back to the UV modifier. Something like this: vrt = $.modifiers[#unwrap_uvw].getSelectedGeomVertsByNode $ modPanel.setCurrentObject $.baseObject tmp = polyop.getEdgesUsingVert $ vrt modPanel.setCurrentObject…
Probably a long shot but I'm really stuck on this. I'm working with the xgen interactive groom editor in Maya and trying to add collision to hair guides. By default they collide with the mesh they originate from but not other meshes in the scene. According to this Autodesk help page you can add collision modifiers to hair…
I thought this would be easy top dig up but I cannot for the life of me... Given this: tMod = turbosmooth()addModifier $ tModtMod.name = "myTurbosmooth" That will change the internal name of the modifier to "myTurbosmooth" but the display name in the modifier panel will still read "Turbosmooth". How can I change the…
Trying to get an asset under a certain polycount and I’m having issues. The more I modify the topology, the more the shapes get further away from the high poly. Is it bad to modify the topology and get rid of some edge loops AFTER baking? Seems that’s the only way this is gonna happen.
Hi guys. I want to add a modifier right after an object was created. Getting this done via callback seems impossible since Max crashes every time i try to add a modifier. Any ideas why? Example works until you comment in the "addModifier" line.
Hey Polycount, Is there a way to make swift loop work on an edit poly modifier of an object? Why does the edit poly modifier restrict this? Also certain macro scripts found online, they fail with edit poly...why is this?
Actually, the modifier is way better still. I can't find a way to get properly quaded corners on some of my models, but in the modifier it was an option. Also, the modifier has some Normals chamfering for low poly hardsurface work.
http://www.mariussilaghi.com/QChamferMod.mcr Perna I made this macroscript to quickly add (after the editable poly) and collapse the quad chamfer modifier leaving the other modifiers in the stack intact. To install it just drag and drop it into the viewport. You can assign a keyboard shortcut to it (it is in the Quad…
