4096x2160 (4K) is the cinema/projection standard (what high end projectors at theaters tend to use). 3840x2160 (UHD) is the broadcast standard and what any 16:9 display (the vast majority of displays) would use. crazybump & 4k maps
i am trying to convert a 4k normal map to displacement(cavity) and it seems like crazybump is calculating at 2k res and just upscaling the result to 4k. even if i just open a 4k normal map and save out the exact normal map without any changes it gets pixellated like it was down res to 2k and then up scaled to 4k - see… -
