Thanks for all the hospitality guys! I had a blast in London. Honestly the rest of the trip became a bit crap after that, but...still a neat experience! As soon as I get around to developing these disposable cameras I used I'll post the 1 or 2 relevant photos I got as well.
Yeah thumbs. Feet look a bit bloated, like they've been inflated or something. In the concept I think the artist didn't follow them through - so don't copy him. Really like the proportions and the feel of the rest though. Would like to see at least a block in of the head soon.
rather unsecretly I was contracted the year before last to design the interface for the BBC's internet TV service but decided to move to Japan instead. Hope they get that thing moving soon... I always thought they should use some kind of bit torrent service with a decoder package at the other end.
I've been hard at work, I promise. :P I'm gunna be redoing those bricks now, they finally bother me enough to actually get around to it. I'm gunna be taking this scene into the UDK soon to take advantage of the better lighting stuff. Yay global illumination and AO! haha.
I made sure to bake it for Maya and by "zoomed in" I guess what I mean is it looks like a small portion of the whole map has been blown up to cover the side of the box the whole map should be covering. As for pictures I will have some up as soon as I can.
wow. i love that 4 wheel drive. on a different but not completely random note are you planning on making a motorbike anytime soon? i would love to see that i think it would be amazing that bridge looks crazy detailed *edit* that PhoenixShader is really really really cool!:thumbup:
Daz: i tried Silo as well (not having used maya yet), and i found it to be very intuitive, and very fast (as compared to wings3D, which is what i currently use.) I promised myself that i'd buy it as soon as i earned the money to do so, by doing game-assets
I'm just going to a regular house nothing to fancy something an average person could buy I should have an update on the way pretty soon haven't worked on it to much these past few days thnx for the advice guys its a great help and I'm getting a lot of use out of it
Encho this stuff is ridiculously good. What Ubisoft studio do you work for and how long have you been working in "the industry"? I live just 45 minutes away from the new Toronto studio, and might apply there soon. They plan on having over 800 employees by 2020!
or just try oil paining - your hands get tired too pretty soon if you're used to just having them rest on your desk, holding a mouse or a wacom. But maybe with some training it won't be that stressful. would be a cool gimmick for presentations though or virtual whiteboards or art critiques
