I would boost it to an ungodly amount, something like 2048, just to see how much it affects the scene. If 2048 fixes the lighting, then you know it's a light map/ light bake error. If not, then we know it's something else. Also, can you take a quick screen of your second UV channel for the light maps?
Heyo! On my side the First Person Example (UE5.0.1) had Virtual Shadow Maps (Beta) enabled as default Shadow Map Method in the Project Settings and "Build Lighting Only" has no effect. To bake light as I used to, I had to switch the Method to Shadow Maps. When using Virtual Shadow Maps, this helped me to somewhat improve…
Wassap guys! I just wrote a little plugin which allows you to reset standard lights, lightcaps or both to default. It also automatically restores the original, pristine material (thanks to the massive contribution of marcus_civis from zbrushcentral.com). It's quite simple but hopefully it saves a bit of time and encourages…
Hello everyone, I am having a issue with my Vray HDRI Dome LIght casting a blue tint onto my model (see photo). I have been reading all day on how to try and figure this out so I can the lighting to match the HDRI lighting. So far I have tried changing the white point in the camera, basically all the settings and nothing…
There are two closed projects mentioned in that article... Project Columbia and MS Flight Live. Flight Live was in Seattle. The folks from the Flight Live studio have been posting on Facebook about the layoff today (we're all still connected, mostly, from the FlightSim days). One thing that may be somewhat confusing is…
This is a great start! This could use a little personality, you can tell a little story with something as simple as a bouncing ball, and thus engage your viewers (and yourself!). Think of the simplicity of the Pixar logo animation with the light jumping on the ball, the shapes and scene are as simple as it gets, and yet it…
I'm playing around with shooting out lights with a weapon, but for some reason it's failing. I found a tutorial online and followed it exactly (minus the fact that the author of the tutorial was using an older version of UDK). I'm not sure what I'm missing or doing wrong. I have a light with four point lights to simulate…
I'm having trouble in creating a over-exposed look in Max. In another word, to make part of the diffuse texture brighter than its own. I tried the following: make material 100 self-illuminating use composite map for diffuse put diffuse map on the base layer of the composite map put light map in multiply mode on 2nd layer…
Hello, I'm trying to render an interior scene with my camera set outside and using clipping planes - this in order to use a decent focal length. The setup worked great until I tried to render a view where the camera is behind a window, which uses mental ray's portal light: it looks ok during FG, but when it renders, part…
