i think the main problem is that he looks too edgy still. maybe you shouldve spared some polys where it wouldnt have been as obvious and given them to the nose and eyebrows and the parts that influence the shape most. i could be wrong tho.. maybe post a wireframe?
I would agree if the environment wasn't a little girl room. I don't think he's a pedo anyway, it's just it's really edgy material, and that sends the wrong signal, again I was trying to help him in the beginning (before his despise phase), he took it to the next level.
hah i still remember the discussions back then. there were more then enough people who believed it. only at further inspection they saw its prerendered i kinda doubt its an official screenshot. doesnt really show anything special or unique and the edgy shadow on the wall looks a bit unfortunate
I am totally dig'n this guy! I would make a crit though, I know you are going for an organic feel with the metal, but it's starting to get muddy around the edges of the plates, and the depth/thickness of the plates is getting lost, I did a quick paintover to help explain.. Original: Edgy:
I'm glad that it seems like the old Late Night show more than trying to appeal to the masses. Conan was at his best when nobody was watching and thus he was able to get away with things that are weird and edgy. Example: [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8ZHR_PYF2IY&feature=related[/ame]
That's a good link thanks for that I'm going to keep that in mind. And yes I agree, facial anatomy is important. It's just so subtle that sculpting it is difficult. Blocky, edgy things like a square jawed muscle bound character are easy to sculpt. Subtly things like a woman with delicate features are way harder =/
Yo mamas so dumb and fat, everyone makes terrible jokes about her. Your opinions are so edgy, turbosmooth retains shape. Your momma only had you because she forgot to turn on autoback. Your mother is an .obj , everyone uses her. Oh and: Blender. (not really)
i really like it looks awesome :), but i think in fps view the the back of the slide should be rounder compared to the concept ,yours looks to edgy and the concept has this kinda hard edge but still its more circular. i made a little paintover so u can see what i mean.
the main reason i do away with alot of his edgy-ness was because halfway through i decided i want this design to be a little more "kid friendly". :P but I'll keep that in mind and try to explore some alternative shapes when i work on the arms and the detailing of the torso. Thanks! :D
@MattFall great scene! It realy gives me that World of Warcraft feeling. And I kinda like this low poly edgy terrain somehow, maybe because it reminds me even more to the actual game, wich always had a blocky terrain. :D and @Sayanora I love this tutorial! Such an awesome trick. Instantly favorited.
