I’ve got the body and face sculpted, and I’m planning to put together a timelapse video before the tournament ends. The clothes are already done in Marvelous Designer, so the patterns are finished but I just need to refine them, clean the topology, do the UVs etc.
I'm another hobbyist, documentation/manual like in 'real world' stuff would be essential so no less for DCC software as well, it's only a tool although you'd need to know at least the basics before diving in on how it works and what it'll actually offer. IMHO whatever resource material either books or online...etc one…
It's quite self-explanatory when looking at the provided assets really isn't it ? Models textured to look good without just a single diffuse texture with some faint top-down shading built-in, ending up looking also quite convincing under simple in-engine lighting and shadows. Basically high end PS2 SilentHill/MGS4 or…
Hello, This kind of question cannot be replied in generic terms, as there are many more factors involved than one may candidly assume. - First off for the case of the above screenshot, your best bet is to research whatever game this is from specifically : check if there is some sort of debug mode available to inspect the…

True, I was on a really general media course, they only scratched the surface of game art so I reckon 95% of the stuff I know is from self teaching So env art is over-saturated then? Why is this - is the average level of skill quite low for env artists (e.g. low skill barrier of entry compared to character art or env art…
Hi there, Anyone who has responded to my posts knows, I am a complete beginner in game art but am working hard trying to develop my skills to a level suitable for employment. I've worked in Arch-Viz for some time but obviously pristine looking boxes with sunsets and human cutouts is a far cry from what I would say is the…
Welcome and glad to see another entry. Whoa a lot in one shot, other than not starting a thread and no updates "weekly", when possible, which would've been cool to see, but i suppose it makes the thread cleaner without them. Shouldn't be too much of an issue to get some views on your artwork. I echo the others top quality…
