Hello everyone. I am very excited to be apart of this group. I have been devoting myself to a lot of art study in the past few years. I have been taking figure drawing courses, figure sculpture courses, and painting courses at the community college that I'm going to. I have learned a lot, but my ambitions require me to…
http://kotaku.com/5125034/mass-firings-at-1up-after-sale Nooooooo! (shakes fist violently at the sky) Tragedy! The latest series of game industry layoffs has struck not the development community, but the enthusiast press. The 1UP network has been bought out by UGO. (which I believe is owned by the Hearst Corporation) As…

Hi there, I have a few questions about the unwrapping workflow in preparation for using Quixel. After importing a model I created into Quixel I have now seen that because the program uses tileable textures and not polypainting where I have a break in UV islands the textures don't match up. For example using the brick wall…
I noticed someone else already started a cyberpunk design for another character so I decided against that idea now. But luckily after some digging and research I fell into the idea of a skin for MF that's inspired by Japanese biker/car culture with a lot of attitude called Bosozoku. I started drawing ideas from their…
Started a new character. To spare the details, I'm aiming for a beautiful sci-fi character of Elegance, Royalty, and Authority. I use my result/model from my anatomy practice. Hair is placeholder, will do nice and proper hair planes. No real concept art used, I just look at loads of Pinterest for inspiration. Still…
I'm bored as hell now that I've graduated and since jobs have not rained down upon me I am trying to add something to my portfolio. I'm going with a modern soldier (tactical gear, assault rifle, etc) in a sort of big hands, big head cartoony TF2 style. I want to use minimal normals (folds, straps) and use the TF2 style…
So I'm slowly finishing the storyline for my first game and this question is coming back and forth like a boomerang. I decided to use unity because I can't program at all and the playmaker plugin for visual scripting pretty much gave me most of what I need within 2weeks of starting to learn the whole thing. I've read all I…
Thanks so much for the replies guys! <3 I always feel like I have to post a picture when I reply so I always end up postponing it. Every one of your replies is giving me pressure to post updates and thus making progress! Cheers! I have the retopo, uvs and occlusion bakes done. Braum and his shield are just under 10K tris,…
Cool! The wrinkles do look out of place. I don't think you need to remove them entirely, just finish them a bit, work it into the fabric. Right now it looks like there are 3 skinny protrusions sticking out of the cloth, as opposed to wrinkles occurring from tension. Look up some reference to get some good ideas on how to…
