2 dedicated concept artists + about 2 marketing artists + ~ 3 "other". You could add UI/UX artists as they mainly work in 2D as well. In my studio the ratio is ~12 (2d) to 100 (3d and animation). However our studio was previously all 3D and we work in collaboration with other studios that cover other art areas. 2D art here… -

I'm happy MS is picking world class studios like Ninja Theory and Playground, they are very lucky to have them under their belt. Sony has always been fantastic at spotting and backing talented studios, like the did with Media Molecule and Naughty Dog back in 2001 and its great that MS is noticing it needs more of its own… -

On the other hand, also with the US, despite the benefit of having a bachelor's degree the cost has rapidly risen to the point where the cost to benefit ratio is dubious, especially so with art school. My recommendation is that if you have a lot of money already, and a support network, some kind of school is a good idea.…
