The entire animation pieces (minus post process in Natron) are rendered using GPU namely GTXs. For that I uses Blender's Cycle renderer. @NoRank You can add other renders if for example your character has cool features that may not show very well on the main render but it has to still include that camera facing render. @Burpee License based entries are not encouraged. Of course you can take inspiration from what exists, but not copy existing works.
compared what I have in zbrush with the renders the renders are quit dark, I do agree. I thought my renders didn't do the hard surface details I had in secondary forms any justice, but I guess you are right, will harden up the edges separately and see what I can do for the normals

Natron has lots of weird glitches imo. Its cryptomatte node can't read exr from Octane properly for example. And also all those 2d compositors are focused on video sequences , not texture re-compositing. Not very convenient for the task really. New render. I wanted to render this character out again as I didn't quite do him justice the first time around as I didn't know as much about rendering using ZBrush. His name is General Takori. I pictured him being a general of a powerful star fleet. He is out of uniform here though!
