Seem obvious, doesn't work. Has been working in 3ds max 2010. Solved, there was probably conflict with one a unwrapping plugin. Hopefully didnt waste me half of day that stupid thing. :) Sry for a thread, wanted to finish sth before end of workday.
ok that Prey vid put me to sleep. now I have drool to clean up. seriously the HL portal vid was fun and stylish - even though I doubt the gameplay will actually be as actiony, since it seems like more of a puzzle-solving mechanic.
oh lol... i really dont know how i disabled this thing problem solved, thx a lot by the way, i noticed many other plug-in that were disabled i dont know what they're for, should i load them all?
Thx Eric. Polyboost got a conform tools? I know it got a topology tools, but I wanted to conform a low rez geometry on an high rez. I thought it would solve my problem but it may be my low poly mesh who is awful.
post some pics, will probably give you a better suggestion on solving your problems.. what Nosslak is very true, in a addition, check out http://www.acetylenegames.com/artbymasa/tuts/tut-modeling_for_next-gen_games.jpg which has some nice tips for hard surfaces
Solved my own issue. Vray has a VrayExtraTexMap in the Bake to Texture options, which lets you plug in any 3DSMAX Map. I guess they did it this way because VRAY bypasses the default render system. Confirmed working with Vray Dirt, Vertex Color, Material ID
I am modeling blaster right now and I have some problems with baking normal map (artifact stuff). When I was trying to repair this with option that Marmoset offers I see that these "hairs" are not appearing on the problematic side of the blaster. I'm also newbie in 3D so it really can be something simple thing to solve.
Your English is great. Your topic title though... :'/ The reason to learn how to make your own is so you can solve the inevitable gaps between available tools and between existing assets. You will be hired for your ability to create, even in situations of scarcity.
Ive never came across this problem before, Just now as i decided to texture this model. :( The problem only happens when i put the texture on the model and render. If any one knows how to solve this problem, please tell me :) Thanks alot :) Also Never mind the shitty texture.
Hopefully this will be the last time i will have to beg for advice as i have ordered some of the training dvd's. As the title suggests i have 2 seperate objects but i want them both to go onto the same texture, so if anyone knows how to solve this i will be most thankful.
