@Owl thanks man I'll definitely put the chunky/harder element into the armour to contrast the rounded character anatomy. Either that or if you show me how to make him more harder/chunkier in some areas yet retain his silhouette and meatiness then i'm game. Instead of demon/horn references (ala darksiders); I'll be using…
feels like my skills are decaying from all the lowlowlowpoly stuff I do at work, so trying to get back to this kind of stuff anyway, quite generic scifi heavyarmor stuff, but I have to do something .
Hello! this has been a long time coming and I've finally had the chance to finish this project. I wanted to post it here first and hear what people thought of it before I put it on my portfolio :) This is of course the Arenanet art test, the low poly model is 7,482 tris and all textures are on a 1024 x 1024 map. Let me…
slight update, I've not made massive progress however I have cut the legs, arms, body and head apart from each other so the base model doesn't phase through the armour. Instead when armour is equipped the respective part will be replaced with the armour. I've tested it and all still animates okay, after this armour is done…

spent the weekend working on the basemesh for this character. if you think this video is hectic and disorganized, you should see my life! mawdlin' all week Ive been sketching based off the designs from shrapnel, and I didn't feel that I was quite ready to tackle the blockout of the armour yet. so doing this basemesh was a…
Really nice work here - the Beast one has some really nice elements to it and the balance of detail is just right. Only thing I would say about the six of clubs model is that the legs look a little off to me, like they don't quite belong to the upper body. I'm guessing it's because on the upper body you have the amour on…
Yes, 2048 texture is needed. In some spots there could be more pixels, in others more polies. So it grabed details rather optimally. I didn't mirror main body armor part nor the head. He is massive. 1024 texture is not gonna be enough when screenshot has 960 in height. Besides, better be safe than sorry. Alright, I started…
