This post is about some of the Modo specific tricks and the hero mesh workflow, using this 80's home supercomputer as an example: It was inspired by Minitel and teleprinters. Its function in game is to describe and start the next mission. It is part of my effort to only use narrative UIs: No menu, no HUD, all the…
Thanks Dethling! That helps, after reading your reply I decided to find a course to follow so I can get a better understanding of my end goal and get more comfortable with the whole process end to end. I'm going to post my progress here both as a way to document my learning and also incase anyone stuble across this thread…
I'm always super wary of companies that boast those types of claims, but looking at their curriculum I don't think it's anything that would be particularly good in a game production environment. Four months is not a lot of time, and a novice can progress a lot in four months but I doubt they could progress to a hireable…
Hey man, it's good you've posted so you'll be able to see your progress down the line. I wouldn't worry about UV's just yet, if you watch some tutorials out there this will eventually be explained. Actually one I'd really recommend is this, it goes over the whole process used from start to finish. It's split into parts so…
Awesome guys! I have the syllabus pretty much created to what I think are the key components for us to learn. If you have any suggestions or what you think needs to be added just let me know. I have a ton of video links that will help us all become more familiar with each topic. I was thinking that everyone would either…
Agree with Snader (did I say "agree" with you in other thread today, Snader? lol), that's what -I think- a common problem with a new user afraid to "destroy" the model with some extreme pushing and pulling model (at least for me). Just do more and smooth it later. Here is a quick paint over in PS with your latest update~…
I guess I'll just use this as a WiP type thread to track some of the progress on my work. I can't really tell if I'm even following the rules of the sketchbook with this. Anyways, I'm working on a new environment based on the Shambles in York, England. It's an old medieval street converted to a market. I haven't decided…
Welcome to our Dota 2 Monthly Community Competition #17 This month we are going to get back to SINGLE ITEMS! Items based on the heroes like Huds, Couriers or Wards will also be accepted, but they will not compete for the trophy to keep the competition even for everyone The theme this month on the DEMON race Heroes list:…
That's pretty much what I did. Worked in stages and subdivided up to get a dense mesh to boolean from. This is what the mesh looked like before the booleans. I'm wondering if there's anything I could've done to make the cleanup process easier.
Started working on the engine the more I get into a around the engine, the more complicated it gets... I guess with enough patience ill get it done it's scary thinking about texturing all of this I think I bit more than I can chew... but I'm going to finish it, progress has been a bit slow these past few days, busy with…
