LATEST UPDATE: Main Shot: Supporting Shots: Packed Shots: Breakdowns: Substances: Assets: Hey guys, I've recently joined the challenge over at ArtStation and I've began production. I'll be posting there and here regularly up until the deadline submission...…
Hello, so I decided to start on my first environment using Cryengine, and It gave me the perfect excuse to try recreating one of my favorite environments in Bioshock Infinite, Battleship Bay. Below is as far as I got in the blockout from yesterday. Right now I'm working on scale, because it doesn't feel quite right for…
Sup guys, I recently received some reviews on my portfolio saying that I have some good technical skill, but there's nothing that stands out in there as super interesting. Looking through my portfolio, I realized how cool it would be if someone took a violin and separated the neck, and made it into a makeshift weapon. So,…
Hi guys, I would
like to share with you some stuff I’m working on. I made some
sketches and decided in what direction I want to develop the design further. This is not truly historical character, however I would like to write a short description of the character for further design work. The idea behind this character, she…
Thanks! Finished! I think I reached the point where I don't have many ideas how to improve it. I'm not 100% happy with the result, but still it's the best piece I ever created. Biggest lesson I learned is I should spend more time on gathering references, making more detailed blockout and overall planning. I might revisit…
Finally got back to this! Just some small edits, mostly hips and lower back, biggest thing is I (hopefully) fixed placement of the anterior superior iliac spine (hipbone), which was way too low before. Not really going by the above photo ref anymore, that was for basic proportion blockout; currently using a bunch of…
For rigging purposes, you can make a blockout mesh in ten minutes that contains joint locations and rough shapes, and pass that off the the rigger while you run through the high poly. What you are doing won't fly in a production environment, it will just confuse everyone as to what is actually going on with the model, with…
I would seriously step back from doing any type of zbrush / polish, and focus on your blockout. Spend a good day or two blocking out the shapes for the castle, get your scale right and nail down where everything needs to be. From there you can start refining your shapes alongside creating tilable and re-usable texutures.…
I feels uncomfortable for me to post pictures of a step that looks in my eyes unfinished and not pretty in any way but I guess I have to overcome myself if I want to document and post every step in the process and get valuable feedback. So here is my blockout from the scene, I hope the two shots show where I want to go…
I'm calling my Sky Burial scene finished, I made some tweaks and optimizations that can be found on the Artstation submission page. My first semester with Think Tank online starts in a couple weeks but I am restless and need a new project to hold me over. I stumbled upon a concept by Mateusz Mizak and it really grabbed me.…
