Do you want any lighting/shadow added, or just the color information from the texture you're using to be baked? If you just want the pure texture, give it a 'constant' material. (If you're using Ultimapper, I think albedo only takes into account the texture, not the scene lights or mateiral)
that's a lot of pink, say hi to Narchi for me. i was thinking, maybe this guy is doing arch vis or something, or perhaps some shitty freeware games that don't require much effort because nobody will care. although when you choose to 'flatten mapping' there is an option there for spacing, leaving it at the default value…
Just wanted to put this out there to you guys to see if you can offer and advice before taking it elsewhere. Ran into some issues recently, and I'm not entirely sure why this is happening. I do not know if this is GPU based, but that is my closest guess on most of these issues. Opacity and pressure sensitivity:…
LATEST Hi guys! Corona brought me back straight to warhammer universe, so I felt the need to model and texture something form the grimdark universe where there is only war. Started with that custom Laspistol; I loved the challenge to try to make something believable from these super blocky and cartoony designs made for…
For anybody wondering, you can also do the same thing in Unreal Engine. I had that question myself and decided to just try it. Worked like a charm. I created a new master material with the texture channels set to parameters that I could plug the textures that a new substance factory instance would create into. I figured I…
well then i correct myself. I thought the preview showed the actual texture shape.. Currently im just confused about what the actual distinction between 2:1 and 1:1 is. As far as i know the UV space in max is ALWAYS 1:1, so if you "cheat" and squish your UV's in to (0.5, 1) scale, the map would still effectively be 1:1,…
Going back to art fundamentals will help your textures. A few years ago, I was struggling with hand painted textures until I took a step back and realized my art fundamentals were really bad. I took some online workshops such as "Becoming a Better Artist" and focused on perspective, figure drawing, lighting, color theory,…
Janne, your most recent texture looks great. You improved the way your plaster looks from your first post. The plaster has nice subtle details. The wood looks extremely good in my opinion. My only complaint with how the wood looks is that the center board has some strips that look unnatural with how they overlap other…
Some friends asked me to write a tutorial for my fur technique. Figured I'd post it here. Hope you like! In this tutorial, I'll teach you to make nifty fur tiles for use in texturing your models. You will see how having full control of the look and flow of your fur without painting can be incredibly useful, and how you can…
