I decided to dive in and learn to use Substance Painter on a small Mayan style temple scene. Still need to add some foliage to the scene, and I will probably bring the scene into Unity for final lighting and presentation, but I thought I would post this render to get feedback on what is or isn't working, and any…
hi guys, I've worked on this scene concept a while back now My friends been pushing me to finish the scene and said it would be a waste if I didn't.. So here I am posting hope you guys would give me feedback so I can finish it for my portfolio.. here's my scene so far I appreciated any critique! thanks in advance =)
Edit: ^^^Beat me to it^^^ Hi there, Your scene looks good but its pretty dark. You may want to consider lightening it up a bit and and then using colors such as blue and purple to sell it as a darker scene. That way we can see what's going on but still understand that its a night scene.
not sure really, just trying to keep them as low as possible. most of the polys are in the wheels, so I might have to bake most of the details, just keep the silhouette intact. not sure wheter to bake the bevels in , but I am sure there will be baking issues and a lot of hassle to make them look good the original scene was…
Great advice Mark. And to add to it, go easy on your Undo buffer if possible, as the cache can break the scene. Save often, and as soon as you notice something strange occurring save an increment and reopen the scene. This usually helps to flush the junk if the scene has been open for a long time.
@Bedrock Generally speaking, most the scene is actually blocked out at the moment xD It's a small scene. The only real things i need to add it are some tree's, and a mini church and these are already blocked out in my Maya scene. I just need to push those particular assets further :)
The Maya litspheres shader posted earlier seems to work in some scenes in Softimage. Applying it may result in an instant crash though (I think it might depend on whether or not the scene/mesh already has an image clip). Works flawlessly for importing meshes into an existing scene where it works though.
Hello guys so im a blender user ( intermediate level i could say) im familiar with the program and i want to create "epic" western scenes into 3d more like backgrounds and etc ( it worked few times) however i always get stuck when i want to add characters ior animals i cant find a proper tutorial on it , should i try DAZ3D…
I love atmospheric scenes, this is coming together beautifully. Maybe when you have time, if you could lay out your props for the scene and some texture samples? I'm curious as to how modular this scene is, let alone see the props individually (like tristram tunnels thread) :poly142:
