i think rorschach wrote a sortof little tute on this in the highpoly sci fi beam thingie thread about how mirroring works best in UE3, the 3/4ths mirroring and what not, or however he called it.
yeah, it's normal. every forum you go to. on one of the forums i go to, there are 28,000 members, 3/4ths with 0 posts due to forum crashes, resets, etc, and also that a lot dont post ever.
feeerg your style rocks! monsieur pior your colors are ace the first page is from photographs from saudek & the others are from the moleskine (the big hands in the 3rd/4th page are from mirror ref.)
You dont need to export your photoshop files at all in unity. Just put your psd's in the Assets folder, and dont use transparency, create an 4th channel in photoshop which will be used as the alpha channel.
Unless you are trying to work for JJ Abrams, please tone down the lens flare. ;) Seriously, though, it's an artifact you'll only see through glass (e.g. a camera lens), and tends to break the 4th wall.
The default vertex color is white which might the reason why that setup is not working. You should paint your mesh black for the first texture and afterwards red, green, blue for the 2nd, 3rd and 4th one.
Never good to hear something like this. It's definitely one of my fears getting into this industry; I'm already living in the 3rd city of my adult life and it would be nice to avoid that 4th, 5th, or 6th one.
Be the best videogame environment artist evar. Run a successful website dedicated to videogame art. Start my own small operation, XBLA/PSN titles. I have a 4th I dare not say publicly.
Still working on the dog, not liking the front and 3/4th view of his head, probably got some proportions wrong and those paws are really hard as well. Any advice would be very much appreciated!
