Looking to start up a little experimental project and need a character model to work around. Didn't really know where to look to find artists for this task and I was pointed here. Below is an image I found that displays the desired style and proportions of what I am looking for. The model does not need to be rigged or…
Not the way you're trying to do it, no. You can generally use a Crazy Bump normal map seamlessly on a model... but only if the UVs have no seams, or if the model is mostly flat. Your rock has UV seams, and is not flat. You might be able to use your diffuse map as a bump map on a high-res mesh, then use that to bake a…

Fuiosg is right dude modeling is modeling 1k polys is really low for what games do these days. You're not going to find many tuts on how to make anything lower than 1k outside of characters. I would just Look for tutorials on box modeling and learn the tools. You can always make them your model lower poly.
I'm getting back into using Maya (Maya LT 2016) after mostly being a Max user for many years. I spent a long, challenging day today trying to make progress on a partially completed model I started in Max a while back. I learned random small things and did all sorts of somewhat chaotic stuff, trying to replicate ways I…
