Hello, I't's been a long long time since posting here... I put 3D modeling on hold for a long time and came back to it over this summer. I decided to pick up where I'd left off trying to get a grasp on anatomy and try and complete my ideal 'standard' character model. For now, I wanted to focus mostly on getting the feet…
This happens to everyone, unfortunately everyone looking to get a start shoots too high and hopes to leap frog over the hundreds of other qualified candidates with experience who have been working for lesser companies for much longer. However I doubt most people fail so hard at writing the cover email... I see two ways…
hello and all that. My name is seth and I have just completed the first year of the computer games modeling and animation course at Derby uni. We now have pretty much five months till the second year starts. This means that I actually have some spare time to look at forums and stuff :) A tiny bit about me....I'm what they…
Been a while since posting on here, after working on the rig I've been approaching the vfx for the game. I'm not well versed in the unreal niagara system though it was actually really fun and interesting to learn through the process. Might be working on understanding more about the fx in the summer break. I did the fx for…
You know, this summer I unironically considered signing a contract with russian military. What? 50/50 chance I can zero my comrades and cross the front to join the proper side in a paid living I might actually enjoy. Odds much less with LinkedIn. This is your brain on CG. This is how psychotic you get when your craft of…
No worries. I can't do an overpaint right now, but what I mean is that the resulting connected "sausages" (also not meant rude) from the serratus to the obliques look a bit sqashed, but that might be the light. Generally, it's not bad at all to have shapes flow into each other or summarize them, but here I feel it's a bit…
We are game design students at university that want to make a game to work with through the summer and beyond. We have worked in development teams throughout the year and have a pretty solid grasp on the development process. We have a clear picture of what the game is going to be like and how we are going to achieve it.…
Hey there, I figured I'd throw my opinion / experience into this thread too since I recognise your name ;) Throughout my university course I was offered quite a number of interviews in different areas of computer arts. I was in the same position as you are now and I was unsure of what to do. I asked…
I'm currently studying at Derby University doing Computer Games Modelling and Animation and the course is really good - it has its flaws but overall its a real great course to be on. We have a guy named Dave Wilson leading the course (worked for Evolution Studios on Motorstorm), when he took over the course he revamped it…
I don't car for SUVs. I like Hummers, but only the original (not H2, H3). The baby Hummers make me sick/angry. I'm a 4x4'r at heart and most SUVs are just playing to people needs to feel bigger/powerful. IMO they end up looking like tools. Now I realize that the Hummer is the boxiest of boxes, but that's not it's appeal to…
