if you don't mind a suggestion, I think that first image (cat on left) which has flatter colors might be better than PBR and semi realism just because it will look more artistic and avoid that plastic toy look that PBR always has (unless it's like top end realism). it would probably be faster to make the models too and…
So I think can call this one finished, def learned alot while working on this, also decided to give a PBR painter a shot to see what this PBR rave is all about.
Is there any way to get hold of the PBR materials included in the indie pack? I invested early in Substance (3 and 4) and Painter, but the PBR mats don't seem to be listed anywhere outside of the indie deal?
it was a PBR shader for 3DS Max but I didn't take advantage of any of the PBR features (other than correcting some texture values) so it was used more like a plain ol IBL renderer
