pick up the 50mm 1.8($120 new), and look into the 75-300mm, you can find them for $100-175 on ebay. I've got a 75-300mm III USM sitting here, but I actually prefer the super cheap ass 80-200mm, because 300mm on a crop is ~ 480mm, and that is just excessive. I'm joking.. Although.. I haven't given pixologic any money since zbrush 3 and I've still got a working license. That's got be to 13-14 years now - makes the £300 it cost back then feel like a bit of a bargain really. I'd recommend trying Silo for people who correctly identify Maya as the massive piece of shit it is for… -

Vig, have you thought of building a RAID setup for high speeds with larger amounts of data? I was just thinking, 4 drives in a RAID5 setup would be pretty speedy too. 4 of these would set you back $320 + a controller and would give you 3x ~60 mpbs write and 3x ~80mbps read, coming out at 1.9TB 240/180 versus your 0,13TB… -

Welcome to Polycount (both of you!) I think your character concepts are great so far! One thing I always ask myself when reviewing concepts is... is this enough information for a 3D artist to reproduce the concept in 3D? And looking at your first couple character concepts, I'd say no. 3D artists need to see the character… -
