I am more of a programmer but looking to expand my skills with some solid 3D modeling.
Here is my WIP of a Low Poly Mustang Boss 302 from 1970. It definitely still needs a lot of work, but I would like any feedback on polygon flow or any glaring errors you might see as well as any suggestions!
it's looking good man, the silouhette looks great (although i'm no car expert). looks like there's not too much wastage either, so that's great!
if you're looking to cut down even more on the poly count, a trick i like to use is apply a completely black material, turn off the wireframe so you can only see the outline, then rotate around the model, turning the wireframe on and off each time you stop rotating, if you spot any edges or verts which aren't adding to the form of the model, you can get rid of them.
The important thing is to look wich lines are important to define your model (car). Use these as your base lines and start modeling from there. Take your time, be critical for yourself that way you will improve a lot. not to citical tho, because it takes time and effort before the really good models come out!
