Hi Jessica! Cute flowers. I think you could make the petals even more varied in color. The purple and blue one don't look a whole lot different. And where the petals and stem meet looks like they aren't really attaching, like the flower is just floating on top. I know this isn't really the same, but maybe add those…
Cgfx shaders probably don't display maya's animation on the vertex data. The cgfx plugin probably link the shader with the original mesh data. You can easily do the animation inside the cgfx. You just need to create a float parameter and look for the "time1" node (Show DAG objects, with a right clic in the outliner). You…
Just a quick update, It ended up working decently but there doesn't seem to be any solution to control the offset of the highlights, so if its not at an extreme angle the center point of the highlight floats around. Thinking of maybe just using unreal instead to present since it seems a bit easier to pull off. I was…
I made a Jerry Can today. We have explosive props in our game, this is a pretty typical example I would say. It is super red with a little rimlight, so it should be super obvious where it is on the screen. I mirror the side so I made the text with small decals instead.(floating polys) Otherwise pretty straight forward. I…
I honestly don't know about that side of it Nose. I of course as lead character artist don't deal with finances. You've got nothing to lose from shooting Cate an e-mail and asking her. She doesn't bite I threw this up here because we suddenly lost our current guy on friday, so resumes are floating around, but I wanted to…
I agree. Less love more time paradoxes! I still believe that they're going with the 'linear unchanging time' theory here, where they can't really change anything because it's already been changed. Nothing they can do hasn't already been done by them before their original 'present' time. To be honest I'm still a little…
Lots of things inspired me along the way - games, designers and artists. When I finally started messing around with modeling in '98 I was doing custom weapon models for (then beta 3) CounterStrike. My first model was a modified MP5. I had botched the bone/vertex assignments so the model was floating about 5ft in front of…
OK! I am done texturing her. I made a staff to go with her...It is not the same but I like it. I went ahead and gave her bones so I could pose her, cuz i figured it would not look right with a staff just floating in mid-air....lol. well here she is. ok I am not the best renderer as far as bones go...but as long as I can…
Nice method Earthquake, looks like a cleaner way to start things then what I did. I did my circle cuts by placing an 8 sided circle spline behind the plane that I wanted a hole in, turned on snap to vertex and started cutting into the plane following the shape of the circle. Required cleaning up afterwards though. Real…
first off this is a really good model...really clean textures...nice work...but.... 1. how is this afixed to the wall?...i know the idea is that it should be comming out of the wall but find some way to show that...looks weird floating there... 2. work on the texture of the sheet inside...it looks like a lump of…
