If i need one loop in a certain position, often times i will just create two, but quickly loop select the one i dont want and remove(backface), generally this is faster than messing with the tool settings. You can also do 3, and get symmetry + center loop, which is nice for some things.
place edge loops were you want grates to be, ring select all the edge that go to the center and do a small bevel on them. loop selection all the edge loops you added in and do the same with a small bevel. than start selecting faces in the right pattern, and extrude them down a bit and delete the faces.
Whats with all the loops running down the center? Take a que from the loops in the neck and remove the ones not flowing up to the head. All those extra loops are not helping for poly density and serve no purpose seeing as they only run verticaly. They won't help you sculpt and they don't add to the models shape so loose…
Thanks for the reply Oniram and Lroy, I managed to fix the problem by reinstalling zbrush again. Oniram i was watching the eat3d tutorial where he would press group loops and had no problem creating loops around the polygroups. But seeing now that its fixed I shouldn’t have a problem anymore creating the group loops
If you can, try and terminate those extra loops in an ngon somewhere hidden. You can play around and get it all quads, but usually ngons somewhere out of sight work nicely enough. Terminating loops in quads can sometimes be more effort than it's worth. | | | | < extra loops_______| | < ngon with 8 sides_______| | < less…
Try using support loops instead of a chamfer. Not the greatest topology but only took like 30 seconds and looks good enough imo. And if you ever want a chamfer there you just need to have some (equidistant) support loops around it. Same reason you should add double support loops but more extreme.
You mean something like this? macroScript copyFaces2newObject Also, please name your thread titles more descriptively. Its not good to have multiple threads with the same name.
