Furthermore, there is no need for sculpting at high subdivision levels when creating blendshapes anyways (besides checking what the model looks like after subdivision). You'll be passed a medium density model that behaves well when subdivided, and the blendhshape sculpting will consist of making the model express various…
Hello. This is my 1st post ever in polycount. Im looking for zbrush tutorials and workshops, trying to fing good head sculpting tutorials online. I started to model with blender and then maya, but now i want to learn zbrush. I really would like to start learning human sculpting. I find organic modeling extremely hard, but…
I'd say it depends a bit on what you are making. Ideally you want to sculpt from a perfect base mesh made for sculpting then retopo/rebuild a optimized low poly mesh that doesn't lose any of the silhouette and bakes well. Attempting to uprez a optimized low poly mesh and sculpt on it usually doesn't lead to the smoothest…
check it out - http://gsculpt.sourceforge.net/ it features a "quad-draw-system"-whatever, similiar to NEX for maya. Maybe not that good, but I'm sure as hell gonna give this a try. The developer probably would like more feedback from pro's as well cheers
@pior - many big vfx studios already do that. some game studios have done it i belive but i cant remember which ones. also i believe i read somewhere that original doom did something like that for the monsters. i would guess the main issue with traditional sculpting-to-digital process is that it is too slow and too messy.…
Hmm. . . well, It's um, a starting place. The sculpt seems to be suffering from a lack of form and anatomical structure. Everything is a bit soft and undefined. The areas around the eyes mouth and nose are missing all of the details of how those parts of the face fold, connect, and transition into each other. (Like, for…
Hello again! I'm sculpting a female face to try and get some practice. Last character sculpt I did I jumped into the details way too early, so this one I'm trying to take slow and get as much critique as possible. Additionally, what anatomy/ specifically face sculpting tutorials are reccomended that I watch/ buy? My end…
Hello, this is my first real post here :) I am looking for some critique for my first serious attemt to sculpt a female head/face and i feel like something is really off and wrong, but i can not figure out what it is. Can anyone help me to figure it out? I started using a simple generic base mesh and used Cinema 4d to…
Hello there. I want to know that how can i sculpt hard surfaces ? I am not asking how to create a hard surface object in mudbox. I am wondering how can i sculpt an hard surface object (imported from maya to mudbox). For example i tried to work on a very basic building. I used split edge rings in sides to maintain the hard…
I did not mean for this post to go dormant for so long. I have worked on this sculpt off and on since the last post but have not really been pleased with the results so I have not posted any updates. I am still working on this piece but I cant say I am happy with it yet. I sculpted on top of the old sculpt, tried starting…
