Make something awesome? I dunno, I've never been confident of my skills. I've never made a piece I liked for more than a day. So, Im where you are, except thats the norm for me.
I'll look at every other kind of art except 3d art. Listen to some nice OSTs, always helps me get in the right mood. and I search for images on Google with a combination of words related to the subject but with a twist.
Anybody know of a good uv packer/unwrapper for light mapping in maya? Haven't really found anything free or licensed online except for this nebula2 toolkit which doesn't really do anything we can't script in maya for free.
I'm trying to create a material where a textures uv coordinates are aligned towards a 3d vector represented by a constant 3. This is similar to a aligning by screen position, except instead of pointing towards the screen, I need it to point to the constant.
And these are my import settings What's wrong? The animation plays fine in Max like its supposed to but when I bring it into UDK it gets super wonky, except at the middle part, it looks like its supposed to on that frame for some reason
Hi there, I baked successfully all the controller animation into all my joints except for the root (I did try both "selected" and "Below" in the bake animation option). Could someone tell me where I should dig? Thx

I agree with what was already stated above (except the face). Did you build the female anatomy to work with the clothes and accessories? I think "each to their own" when it comes to facial structure. I like it!
Everything use the 1st uv channel by default (index 0), except lightmaps, but you can still force them to use the channel that you want. "Programmable" colors can be driven through vector parameters.
There is "view" on the top left corner of the texture. Open that, end disable everything, except alpha, and show that. From this image, its not clear how are the values in it. It seems like you have a plain white alpha channel.
