You could have a texture that always matches to the next pipe (say on map channel 0) then have a blended texture for the between area on map channel 1 where you could vary the tiling.
Hey man, sorry I've been MIA that past few days but I've been extremely busy. Just looked over your progress and 2 things to add to what TeriyakiStyle was talking about. When I did the process thing I showed up a bit on the top I probably didn't illustrate how to push local value well enough with the piece I selected. What…
Ehh, I wouldn't call everything posted so far pixel art, but given that this site isn't about pixels, I will try contain my OCD urges. Because most stuff does tend to follow the aesthetic feeling. This isn't true. You can also upscale by 3x or 5x (300% or 400%). It just needs to be in increments of 100%, or in integer…
Honestly I think you need more experience with it before you say stuff like that...:poly121: Yes Mobo is great at clean up, re-targeting and blending, but it mostly leaves the hand keying to other applications like Max and Maya. HumanIK (motionbuilder stuffed into Maya) is finally Maya's answer to biped, after all these…

A few members here have asked that I discuss my methods for creating maps. My approach is more suited to a realistic style. Texturing When I am first assigned a task, for example an Ammo box. Attach objects together, then create new empty texture and make it active "target" ( its node selected) in all materials ( drag and drop new texture from image pane to shader pane in each material) . Copy UV set and keep the original one with camera mark on while the new selected one with that…
I get this question a lot. Skin or Physique. my answer is: skin all the way baby. A common mistake people make is that you DONT have to use physique on a biped, even though they where bundled together. Skin works fine. So whats so good about skin? Most importantly... You can remove, relink and add new bones from your…

Hi, i'm 9 months into a 3D Modeling and animation course and texturing is my worst area by far. Before this course I didn't know how to crop an image or cut out anything. Didn't know how layers worked other than that one was on top of the other and you can't see the bottom layers through the top one. Now I know theres a…
