How do you guys go about finding companies to apply to that are not necessarily big names and aren't exactly advertising their vacancies on LinkedIn or other job boards? I seem to get better responses from these when applying to them directly. Do any of you have some sort of strategy when it comes to this?
I'm humbled with your positive reaction. Amazing. And it convices me that I can follow with more complex topics. You learned HeightLerp, so we can proceed to generated UVs, so... etc. and we'll end up doing full procedural stuff in Houdini ;D And some Unreal optimization. btw.…
So I'm working on a flowering bush and I'm pleased with the flower setup, but I'm struggling to find a way of culling out the flowers from also growing in the centre of the bush. I have multiple trunks -> bifurcating branches, which split to branches with leaves and branches with flowers. The only way I think I could cull…
Heyho  I got a task where I have to use a non-uniform texture (2048x1024) and bringt it to Unreal. Unfortunately there is not too much documentation about that, so I pulled out the good old cube for testing: Here's my UVlayout (using the -1 to 1 space, so it's double in width), and below my beautiful testing…
Heya peeps, I was wondering if anyone knew any tutorials of ways one could export a set of animations for DAZ and into (example) Max in a clean and uncluttered way from where you can then 'bake' the animation to either CAT or Bip? The reason I'm asking this, is I finally got a friend of mine to 'upgrade' to said…
Hey all, I just finished uploading my latest tutorial (and probably my best so far) on how to create a dynamic object that you can interact with. This is a very in-depth step by step tutorial on how to set up interaction in your game that allows you to open doors, drawers and the like with blueprint. This should work with…
Hi all, when UV unwrapping a character, do you advise increasing the texel scale of UVs for areas that require more detail such as hands? Or making sure to keep texel scale consistent for the entire character? Last full character I finished I polypainted in Zbrush so UV scale of realtime mesh wasn't as important since I…
in my litttle free time i made this character , but only with practising intuits , i didnt aim it for any specific platform , so... things i will need to fix in my next project : modeling and rigging, cause im auto criticising my work and i conclude that i still need to practise some edgeloops in arms , cause they are the…
Me and a couple of my friends are making a teaser trailer for a class. Our storyboards consisted of a lot of explosions, guns firing, a lot of character animations, some crazy DOF and motion blur throughout the video. We're going for a very realistic look for our teaser and we began thinking about how we should go about…
This goes back to EQ's explanation of avoiding the "hacky" route to fixing normal maps by painting in the RGB channels. Basically if your bake is not solid in your first pass, there is clearly something wrong in the geo. With proper planning and understanding of expected results of a bake, can save you (or someone else)…
