I have been working on trying to replicate edge damages that can be found throughout the new Ratchet and Clank game. My new environment is inspired by the franchise and I'm having trouble figuring it out using Substance Designer. I'm still new to FX Maps and the Mask Builder. I believe I'm thinking too hard about this and…
I'm working on an old themed air vehicle and have been wanting to get the seat upholstery in order. The majority of the aircraft has been constructed in Softimage, but since the current detail (second attempt) hasn't been quite working out I'm needing to take a different approach. Basically trying to get the same stuff…
in my case I did the blockout in maya and then manually replaced final art assets in typical way, though it is possible to do the same import process with final art assets as was done with blockout. For me the decision comes down speed versus WYSIWG. For blockout since I want to throw down a ton of shit fast and then…
Hey all! Thanks so much for all the replies :) Sorry for not replying to your comments individually. I really appreciate all your tips and tricks, and helpful comments. It's helped a lot! I've decided to try and work on a personal project with all your tips with an Anakin Skywalker sculpt. This is out my comforts zone but…
That's prob not gonna happen. It MIGHT happen to some degree in next gen pipelines but even for character texturing, I can't see substance replacing photoshop for texturing skin. And one place it will NEVER replace photoshop is handpainted texture studios IMO.

Kinda like MaterialReplacer, but not really. http://plugins.angstraum.at/ One way that might work is to use BFF to convert the scene to a script file, then replace all the RGB Tints with a global replacer (I like ReplaceEm ), then load the script back in. Although a script jock will probably come along with a better way...
MaX_On, welcome to Polycount! You have received some great replies here, that's a good start. We have plenty of great resources here, perhaps these threads might also help you frame your mind around the issues you are facing: * Motivation is Bull * Why you're not getting any replies * The Death of Curiosity As stated…
You do if you're trying to win a replacement for it. Anyone satisfied with it wouldn't need a replacement program. Wait, how are the prizes distributed? Would it be possible, if you won and didn't need the 3D software, to take the copy of Maya and sell it rather than activate it?
