Thanks m4dcow, worked perfect for those that when choosing the default maya program it wont update. didn't even have to restart.

That sounds like a pretty good solution m4dcow, sounds alot better than fishing through geometry for stray verts atleast!

Ok, got it working...it was what Eric Chadwick and m4dcow suggested...the fbx file exported incorrectly but obj worked fine. Thanks alot guys!
