Hello guys...im looking for feedback on my character artist portfolio that ive been developing for about a year and trying to break into the games industry...do you think i can be hired by looking at my portfolio and is my art attractive to you? Thanks in advance. adelbelloulhi5.artstation.com
The work is pretty lumpy. None of the character work is very compelling or attractive. Both props and characters need a good foundation which you can get through practice. You can speed up progress by taking a character creation course and there are many good ones to choose from. Keep having fun!
Looks to me like nothing I wrote had any effect. Sounds to me like you have never had to go through legal at a developer or publisher. So to me what you are saying does sound far fetched and it does sound like pure speculation. Why is it so hard to believe that artists all got together and posted their art at the same…
I think you falling into the trap of wanting to make all your female characters "attractive". This is fine, but because you are doing this you are modelling them all on the perfect face to you. So they all end up looking the same. Where as loads of different faces can be "attractive". Im guessing you have a thing for…
I'm creating an XGen groom for a character which is working for the most part. The issue I run into is how some clumps seem to clump on themselves for lack of a better term. Take a look at the image below and you can see a few of those issues (the forest-ish green looking clump alongside the light blue clump on the…

It immediately gave off 70's Farrah Fawcett vibes, which would fit into the era of the original trilogy, but still looks modern and fresh. Don't know if that was intentional on their part, but felt like a cool design detail to…
Hello fine folks of Polycount, I'm looking for some advice on how to pick concepts to work off of that are appealing to recruiters and the artstation community to get noticed and hopefully network and find opportunities. I've made 2 finished portfolio pieces so far (that are far, far far from perfect) but even in their…
Yeah, I think a strong portfolio will not be ignored. Then its up to the interviews to make it work. That's why I personally don't think networking is cruicial for juniors. Though the longer you are in the industry, the higher the positions are that you are going for the less risk the employer will take. Having someone…
[ QUOTE ] So we think Bioshocks visuals sucks now that TF2 is out do we? Because Bioshock looked more 'realz'? I would hope not. [/ QUOTE ] TBH, Bioshocks visuals sucked before TF2 came out. TF2's sound and lighting is much more realistic, and draws you into the surroundings, even tho the colors and proportions are more…
